---Shrove Tuesday---

Shrove Tuesday

Hi all

Today we in the Anglican Religion celebrate Shrove Tuesday.

Shrove Tuesday is the day preceding Ash Wednesday the first day of Lent.

The expression “Shrove Tuesday” comes from the word shrive, meaning confess. Shrove Tuesday is also know as Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras ( which is the simply French for Fat Tuesday). Not only Anglicans celebrate Shrove Tuesday but many Christian denominations, including Lutheran, Methodist and Roman Catholic Churches.

During the time of Lent you give up something that you really love, like when you like to eat chocolate often you give it up for 40days. The fast period start on Ash Wednesday and end on Good Friday.

On Shrove Tuesday we as Anglican get together at Church and bake pancake. We also play different game for fun like running with the pancake in the pan and the winner receive a price.

This year I am celebrating Shrove Tuesday at home baking my own pancakes.

Here is a easy pancake recipe:
6 eggs
4 cups of water
3 cups of flour
20ml baking powder
5 ml salt
350 ml oil
5ml vinegar.

Enjoy your day.
